Overview

In this assignment, I learned how to deploy a SQL Server environment in the cloud using AWS RDS, load a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) database, and create a Power BI dashboard to analyze the data. I gained hands-on experience with AWS Academy, including setting up an RDS instance, configuring security settings, and connecting to the database using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Power BI. Through this process, I explored the benefits of cloud computing, such as scalability, cost savings, and accessibility, while also understanding its challenges, including security risks and downtime concerns. Additionally, I learned about the top cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud) and how cloud-based solutions enable efficient data analysis and visualization.

Viewers can see where emissions come from (map, donut chart), how they’ve changed over time (line chart), what gases contribute the most (bar chart), and the total impact (card).
